As soon as the value of human life is contingent upon subjective governmental or personal judgment, the protection of any life—regardless of race, level of development, intelligence, or social standing—becomes arbitrary.
If I may justify your death, any one may justify mine. I have no value but that which society gives me. I am only good as far as I am useful.
